My lowbeam headlight went out in my 2007 Saturn Outlook. I replaced the light and it went out again a day later. I took the car in to the dealership the wiring harness is melted and the wiring going into the harness is burnt. This is due to too much voltage causing the harness to melt. This has been a problem with many Saturn Outlooks it has yet to be a recall. This is not only a manufacture issue but a safety issue as it could result in a fire. The wiring harness is no longer available so the whole headlight has to be replaced to correct the problem.

While driving at night my 2007 Saturn Outlook the passenger low beam went out. Upon opening the hood when I stopped I noticed the distinct odor of burnt plastic. Upon further evaluation while removing the bulb I observed that the insulation for the wiring harness had melted off and shorted at the interface between the wire and connector. The contact for the bulb also exhibited charring at the connector contact. An internet search for a replacement bulb alerted me that there is a service bulletin (09-08-42-004) addressing the replacement of this harness should the headlight fail. I feel this is a oem design flaw and safety issue since the harness can short out to the point to where the insulation is melted completely off exposing bare wires.

Passenger side headlamp on a 2007 Saturn Outlook has now had to be replaced twice in two months. Wiring harness is shorting out causing the headlamp to fail. Bulbs are fine and in working condition. This is a very significant hazard, especially while driving at night. With a 4 month old son, I would like to see some action be taken to make this issue a recall.

I purchased my 2007 Saturn Outlook brand new. I was told that wiring harness needed to be changed about $1,000. My extended warranty does not cover it because it is over 74,000 miles. I have been reading forums from other Saturn Outlook owners and a lot of them having same problem.

My 2007 Saturn Outlook headlight went out. When researched on the internet on how to change the lamp, I found that the wiring harness for the headlights on all model years of Saturn Outlook, GMC acadia, Buick enclave, and Chevrolet traverse have a similar problem of the headlight wiring harness melting and failing. There is a technical service bulletin concerning the defect ( Saturn tsb #09-08-42-004) stating that the harness should be replaced (with the same harness, so the problem continues) and nyogel gel should be used at the electrical connection point. The melting wiring harness is a fire hazard. I have the harness if you want it.

Problems with passenger airbag - sometimes it would say off when a passenger is seated and sometimes it would say on and then turn off after some time. Had to have work done on the fuel pump, then the drive shaft went to the point where it car had to be towed. I was told that this never happens. Currently, the car now kicks back when the car is first moved for that day and the dash board will flash, either, speed limited to 108pmh (when pulling out of driveway), park assist is off (when it is on),or traction control is off (when it has never been touched) - the car will also shut off without me doing so. I have taken it to a Saturn dealership and they say that they can find anything wrong with the car. I am currently five months pregnant and I do not feel safe in the car. When the car kicks back it hurts.
