How are so many people having an issue with speakers linked to water in the doors, not a recall already?

Outlook XR

  • Automatic transmission
  • 115,000 miles

I have a 2009 Saturn Outlook XR (their version of the Acadia) with about 115K miles and just lost all sound through the speakers from the radio and the turn signal. At first, crackles....then no sound from the radio although it remains illuminated as if it's still on....then went off....back on after a little while...then out again. Fuses are fine. If I connect a headphone to the front jack I still don't hear any sound however if I connect it to the REAR headphone jack I get sound. I have read numerous Saturn and Acadia owners (GMC's version of this SUV) about water being in the accessory wiring found near the door hinges and sure enough, 3 of the 4 had quite a bit of water in them. I drained them out and left them disconnected with all 4 doors left wide open all day on a sunny day but nothing was fixed after that. As many people seem to have this issue this sure should be a recall by GM IMO.
