I couldn't get the key out of the ignition without putting the car in park, neutral, drive over and over, about 4 times. Then the key would come out. Well, if you are constantly moving the gears that fast, they are bound to cause problems. Well, it did. The check engine light came on and I was told that the"Transmission Change Selector Switch" is bad and needs to be replaced. I was told the car can still be driven, just might hurt the transmission later on?

They quoted me between $375-400 (This is in a small city, taking it to my normal mechanic)...Sad that I have a normal mechanic, but I used to own a Ford.

Anyway, my car only has 27K miles. I think I am just going to leave it and switch gears real slow. I think I have a 100,000 mile/7 yr power train, but we don't have a dealership in our area. Well, we did, but they closed. So, I would have to drive it 120 miles to see if they can fix it, or to see if it is even covered under warranty....

I think I am going to dust off my bicycle...
