Luckily I was parked. Turned on my car to roll up the windows and suddenly the drivers side seat exploded, with what looked like an airbag inside the seat. It hit my arm causing a bruise. The seat is now torn and busted.

Upon executing a left hand turn at approximately 32 mph, the inner support brace in the bottom seat cushion broke. This caused my foot which was on the accelerator to be jammed forward and caused the vehicle to downshift and accelerate through the turn. The seat is now unable to be adjusted forward or backward. Upon further online research, this is quite a common occurrence on these cars.
