I worked for a fuel delivery system manufacterer and i believe that 80K miles is kind of a short life for this pump! since the vehicle was out of warranty and I knew they would would not honor the replacement. I took it apart and looked at the assembly, there was no contamination what so ever and since the replacement worked right out of the box it was not something else that caused the premature burnout. By the way I was the supervisor of the Lab that reviewed cutomer claims and have had many years of experience trouble shooting these issues!
