1. Rear differential failed before 100,000 miles. I was driving and I heard something metal fall in the back of the car. I pressed gas but was not able to move. After inspection and call for help, the part that fell on the ground was the rear differential. How can it just fall out while driving? I had to get it towed and repaired by a mobile mechanic. 2. The sunroof switch is faulty. Several times it has gotten stuck and won-€™t close. If it starts to rain, I have to pull over on the highway, cut the car off and on a few times and press the button until it closes. The sunroof will move forward like it-€™s going to close but doesn-€™t; it moves back and forth like it-€™s stuck on something. 3. The shifter is incredibly rough and hard. It sounds like something falling out of the car every time I shift from park to reverse and back to park. Very loud and the entire car jerks when shifting. There was a previous recall but the problem still persists. I-€™m afraid something else will fall out while driving.
The drive shaft broke and had to be replaced. This resulted in lack of stability prior to the break and mobility was comprimised after it broke. The car was repaired at Wayne's Precision and Transmission auto repair in Bumpass, Virginia on November 4th, 2022. The state of Virginia requires annual car inspections which we will have due next June. Symptoms prior to replacement of the drive shaft included clunking/knocking noises from underneath the car when the car was in motion. Modest noises first occured in August, three months prior to replacement, and proressively got worse until replacement was necessary.
5-26-21 my car was brought into Chrysler Jeep Dodge East hanover New Jersey picked up the car on 07-16-21/a brand new transmission was installed. -now as January 2022-the brand new transmission that was installed is again gone bad- like the old one was in before new one installed..... it is surging with a heriffic bump when you approach to slow down at aintersection, and can be felt on acceleration-not that I am blaming dealership but there is a problem with the transmissions that are accerted to fit vehicles that are 8 speed automatic transmissions -845re type.inclosing invoice #chcs243489...
Electronic stability control/ ABS light/ brake light.. while driving the ESC and ABS popped on together, after cranking back up the vehicles brake light appeared, something is stopping the vehicle from driving normal. Upon stopping at red lights the car jerks, also it skids when making left and right hand turns. The car revs when accelerating but the rpms are reduced as if in limp mode. The car is very dangerous to drive especially two lane highways it gravitated towards the ditch this time I just could turn the wheel, because sometimes the wheel is very hard to turn.

When accelerating it will sometimes throw itself into neutral. It also stays in a gear for a long period of time before shifting. It happens at random times while driving.
Shifter at times will not engage the gear it is put into, acts like it is in nuteral. Can turn ignition off and restart, put into gear several more times before the gear will engage. Can be dangerous, depending where you are at. May take about 5 minutes to get gear to engage. Happened when starting car and backing up or going forward, backing up more often.
The contact owns a 2015 Chrysler 300. While driving approximately 55 mph, the vehicle independently decelerated and a warning message instructed the contact to place the vehicle in park. The contact pulled the vehicle over and placed the gear in park. The contact was unable to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to his residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. Bayshore Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram (4000 pasadena fwy, pasadena, tx 77503, (713) 433-4000) was contacted and arrangements were made to have the vehicle towed to the dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 98,000.
While attempting to park with gear on D the car suddenly came to an abrupt stop and a message on the dashboard read, shift to P then to desired gear. I attempted to reverse and or put the gear in drive several times only to receive the same message. I tried turning the car off multiple times and I still had the same result. Until about 10 minutes or so of this same issue I was able to finally put the car in reverse and park. On 8/6/2019 my car was at the dealership getting recalls fixed and then this occured. I have never had this issue before.
The contact owns a 2015 Chrysler 300. After starting the vehicle, the transmission could not be immediately shifted from the park position. The vehicle was taken to ganley Chrysler/Dodge (2115 mentor ave, painsville, oh) where it was diagnosed that the rotary shifter was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 62,000.
The contact owns a 2015 Chrysler 300. While attempting to start the engine, the service stability, ABS, and traction control warning indicators remained illuminated. Also, the vehicle hesitated to accelerate and would not respond immediately. The contact stated that the vehicle lost power and did not immediately accelerate when depressing the accelerator pedal. The vehicle was taken to heritage Dodge (9219 harford rd, baltimore, md) to be diagnosed, but the failure could not be duplicated.the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 42,000.
The contact owns a 2015 Chrysler 300. While driving at any speed, the vehicle slowed down, lost power, and restarted within a couple of minutes. There was no warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to riverside auto sales of marinette and menominee Inc (715-735-3361, located at 4030 hall ave, marinette, wi 54143) to be diagnosed, but the technician was unable to duplicate the failure. The failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact back to the dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 9,085.
Drove car to town Thursday 10/11/18 everything was fine get in car Friday morning 10/12/18 start car warning comes up on display ecs ABS AWD disabled, I do not drive vehicle till Friday 10/18/18 to take it to dealership, they charged $89 to run scan tool to find out front left wheel speed sensor is faulty would be $240 to replace sensor, which consists of 3 bolts and being plugged in, and code cleared. This is not a 3 hour job. Currently there are no wheel speed sensors available and are on indefinite back order due to an unbelievably high demand. Can not drive car safely due to the car being crippled because of a $29 sensor. I have owned this car less than 6 months and have driven less than 5000 miles, the sensor literally went bad in my driveway, the mechanics new it is a massive problem and are charging people way over what should be for what is an obviously defective part. They also told me is would be fine to drive until they can get the part which is untrue due to 2 safety moduals and one drive train function being disabled. The fact that they are on an indefinite backorder from the factory tells this is a model wide problem and needs to be addressed.
When accelerating on a freeway ramp and also from a stop the transmission has failed to change gears until the brakes were applied. It has happened once in each situation. Having to apply the brakes when accelerating to join freeway traffic is not a good thing. In both cases a turn was involved, turning on to the ramp (left) and turning onto another street, also turning left. In neither case was it a "hard" acceleration.

My wife pulled out of the garage, forgot her glasses, pulled halfway back into the garage, put the car in park. As she was exiting the car, it lunged forward hitting our garage wall. We have the rotary dial shifter on this car. It reminded me of the actor in los angeles who got out of his car to get his mail and his Jeep went out of park and unfortunately pinned him against his fence and was killed. I had the car into service and it was inspected by the dealer and also an independent engineering firm. I received a letter from Chrysler saying that nothing was found to be wrong with the car. I don't believe this at all. Everyone knows that Chrysler has an issue with their electronic shifters.
At approx. 20000 miles, the rotary knob to shift the transmission was completely frozen in place. After several attempts, and repeatedly turning car on and off, the vehicle engaged. Vehicle at the time of this incident was parked on my driveway.
