I was over 100 miles from home - meeting family members for the first time. THANK GOD I didn't stand in the parking lot waving good bye while everyone else drove away!! So I went shopping and found THE LAST jumper cables in the Shopco and everyone else stayed, so as not to abandon those forced to stay. As soon as I had enough charge to keep the car running - I was alone in the parking lot!
So 4 hours earlier when I first arrived for the gathering, and turned my car off - lights and all, without beeping a warning to me, the fog lights turned on and ran the battery dead... Driving home the fog lights would not turn off - until I discovered that turning on the bright lights, made the fog lights go off. When I got home I removed the fuse (#8) and I am happy to report that when I had to take my cat to the vet on an emergency - my car did start. I don't have over $400 for this - it seems I just replaced the 'clock spring' or something like that, because I thought the air bag was going to blow while I was driving on the interstate...
