Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

I was making a left turn into an intersection when I could not excellerate to clear the intersection because I lost power going to my transmission which almost caused me to get hit by another car approaching the intersection...totally lost power to the transmission...could not go forward or backwards was wondering if there is any sort of recall for this, I felt like I could have been killed, the car gave me no warning what so ever, no warning lights ever came on indicating there was a problem...my husband followed me to the dealer later on in the day and I was told it was some sort of valve body problem and it would cost $680 to fix it...never been so scared in my life not sure if I chose the right components or not but it felt like the tranny to me...I got three or four blocks from the dealer and then my service engine soon light came on...if this is not something that's on a recall then some one can be killed...I think god was just with me...the dealer also stated alot of them were coming back for some sort of vacum hose problem, well if that many is coming back why they have not had a recall not unless its not being reported...maybe I can help save the next person from a tragedy and people need to be aware.

My car failed to go into gear, which this matter in on recall but I was told by Dodge that my VIN was not in system under the recall, putting in the VIN could of been a error to. Human error do happen but the manufacture should stand behind their cars, I had to pay for the repairs in full, I then have to send in my original receipt before Chrysler will reimburse me $150 towards the repairs. I was without my car for 8 days.

Charger 6-cyl

  • 80,060 miles
There was no sign that there was any problems with my car. I got in the vehicle, started the ignition, and was not able to shift the gear from park to reverse. I had a local towing company come and pick up the car, and they took it to a local mechanic. The tower said there's been recalls on the column shifter for the Dodge Chargers. After the mechanic looked at the car, he said that yes it was the column shifter and it would need to be replaced. It will cost $380.35 to have it all replaced. Since I didn't do anything to damage the car, and there's a recall on the particular item that is being replaced I don't see why I shouldn't be able to have some form of reimbursement sent to me.

I had parked my 2007 Dodge Charger R/T, and later that night about to leave for work my gear shift was stuck in park. I have tried everything to get it unstuck with no luck. I am very frustrated due to the fact that there was a recall for this issue however my vehicle was not in the time frame for the recall. There have been hundreds of complaints and yet no one has helped us.

The shift assembly that allows the car to go from park to drive has broken. Called Dodge and asked about a recall and they stated one has been issued but not for my car due to the time frame it was built. So no recall for my car. This is a major safety hazards cause it could slip out of gear or the brakes could fell or who knows else will happen. I need this fixed and not to happy with Dodge due to they wont issue a recall for my car when I can look on the internet and find other cases just like mine and same year and make and model.

Charger 6-cyl

  • 38,000 miles
My 2007 Dodge Charger had a part failure in the shifter mechanism that prevented it from being moved from park. This occurred at 8 pm at night on top of a parking garage when I had my family with me. It took over an hour to locate a towing company that could get to me because of the parking garage. The dealership informed me the problem was a cheap plastic part that had been recalled on the avenger but not the Charger and they had been replacing about a dozen per week. Dodge should recall this part and repay the owners that have already had to make the repair.
