So far I have had my Magnum to 3 different qualified shops to try and fix this problem with the airbag light that just won't go away !! I live in Virginia and, as should be expected, I can't get my car inspected until I fix the faulty airbag light issue!!

Have replaced the Clock-spring assembly ,including the the turn signal / cruise control assembly as well. Still can't get the problem fixed!!! This has been going on now since September 2013 and it is now May 2014!!! Can't get any help from Chrysler / Dodge. I guess people will have to die first before they step up and admit there's a major safety issue with not just the Dodge Magnums but a lot of other Chrysler and Dodge vehicles out on the roads or sitting in peoples yards because they can't legally, safely drive these defective lemons!!!

Now I'm being told I will need the sensors and wiring harness as well as the steering column replaced!!!! But hey, I just got a letter last week to inform me that all 2005-2006 Dodge Magnums with the 19 gallon gas tanks will have a life time warranty due to the possibility that a sensor on the tank could stop functioning causing the vehicle to cease operation during normal driving!! I just wish they would do the same thing with this insane airbag light problem.

General Motor's twin brother!!!! I will never buy another newer Chrysler / Dodge product or GM product as well!! If anyone out there has any suggestions as how to remedy my situation please post your ideas / solutions !!

With our magnum the dodge service department has had it more than we have since we bought it in 2010! The airbag light keeps coming on and staying on even after they get it to go off. They have replaced the clock spring twice now, put in an entire different steering column, they supposedly even had a tech from dodge come down the last time it was in the shop to look at my car and clean all connections and re grease them. That helped for a while and then yep the airbag light cam back on right after we moved to a new state! So I give this new dealership the history on my car they call down to the old dealership because of the code they are getting, come to find out someone at that dealership told the tech up here at the new dealership that code never came up on my car when my car was in for them! Well lucky for them I save all my paper work for my trouble maker car and its the same code that has been coming up for the last 3 yrs! This new dealership is telling us it looks like its a clock spring again! How the hell does a clock spring go bad 3 yrs in a row and we have to keep paying money for it! I think it's time dodge steps up to the plate here on this one it's a safety thing and needs to be addressed now! I'm so tired of this car having this same problem and it not getting fixed the right way because they don't know how to fix it or what's causing it. If your tech gets this code : 81608. B1B02 SQIB CIRUIT OPEN that's the code that my car is giving off for my air bag light and that's how it's written on the print out they give you.

This was more than the second time the magnum was in for the airbag light being in this time they replaced the clock spring. The service advisor tried telling me I refused this part last yr when this occurred and like I told him if my car needed it then it would have needed it later on so what sense would that make for me to refuse a car part that my car needs that's stupid! When it comes to cars I know my stuff I'm not some stupid woman you can pull things on and get away with it! Like I told the tech working on my car there is a major problem with this car and the system other wise this wouldn't be a constant problem and my car wouldn't be in here all the time for the air bag light always being on!

So far it has costs us thousands of dollars to try and get this problem with this car fixed for good only to have it keep coming back. Not only has it costs us a lot of money but the parts they put in are supposed to be covered under warranty and it costs them money as well and the service departments. The airbag light in our 2005 magnum will not go out and stay out no matter what they do to fix it. They supposedly had a tech from dodge come down and look at our car and try to figure out what was wrong with her and he couldn't even figure it out. He took all connections off cleaned them all regreased them and reconnected them all. They have replaced the steering column module, steering angle sensor and the clock spring has been replaced 2-3 times now! This is just the paper work sitting in front of me. This doesn't even come close to all the other paper work I have on my car in my car folder. Like I've said the dealerships service deptment has had our car more than we have since we bought it! When I took my car in this time for the airbag light being on being that we are in a new state I thought they would be different and maybe have a solution but they are worse than the other service department. They never heard of this code and don't know how to fix it! I called dodge and put in a complaint and all I got from dodge was well what do you want us to do about this? My response to her was how about put a recall out on these cars or give people who bought these cars who are having these problem a refund or buy back these cars from them. This is a serious safety concern if I get into an accident that airbag isn't going to deploy like its supposed to. I'm doing my part and I've been trying to get it fixed but it seems like dodge keeps skating around this issue because they don't want to piney up the dough to fix the problem they want the consumer to have to do it and that's not right.

AIRBAG WARING LIGHT COMES ON. In June 2010 Dodge told me it was the seat clock spring. It lasted till 3/30/11 and again it went on. This time they said it was another clock spring. According to the dodge parts catalog there is ony one clock spring and that is located in the steering column. Part # 5135965-AC, and description # 8015001. The first time when they told me it was in the seat, the second time they told me it was in another location. The above mention clock spring can oly be put into the steering wheel assembly as it has a spline. The bill shows the same part number for both time. The second time it came on when I went to adjusted the steering cloumn. The first time I don't recall when it came on. I strongly suggest you make a comlaint on line to NHTSA about this problem.

This will be the fourth time I have to take this car in for repairs. The first time they told me it was the clock spring under the drivers seat, asked me if I put anything under the seat and I said NO...........Thought they fixed the problem, a few days later, light on again. Took it in again, they say they fixed it.....wife drove off the dealership lot and had to turn around before getting to the main road.....the stinking air bag light went on again. This time I left the car with them...... AGAIN...... and called me to say the problem was fixed. This time it lasted for approx two months before air bag light coming back on! And now it dings, sometimes the light comes on......some times it doesn't come on. Every time I drive the car, I have to move the seat back as I am much taller than my wife. And like I said, sometimes the light comes on and sometimes it doesn't. But lately, it mostly stays on. I really feel that this is a major problem as I have fears that the airbag will not deploy in case of a crash. I have always felt that most of the auto techs are nothing more than parts replacers and haven't a clue how to trouble shoot the actual problems. I don't feel it should be my responsibility to pay for Dodge's defective designs.

Airbag light on dash stays on. It has been on for almost a year and even after diag. and replacement of clockspring and whatver else they threw at it, the light came on by the end of the day.

It would come on and off periodically, through the week it was fixed, but it is on now and has been on for a year straight.

Stupid that they 'can't figure it out' ???? So, question is: Will the airbag work if in an accident? Or NOT? And which side was the code for? Driver or passenger? They can't seem to be CERTAIN.

Air bag light came on one day on my way to work, called Chrysler dealer who had me bring the car in the next morning. I left the car with them and they called me to tell me that it was the clock spring and that they had to order the part. Took the car back the next morning for them to fix. Replaced the clock spring. Airbag light and dinging stopped.....for 1 1/2 days! Called dealer again when the light came back on. Took car in, they said the part was faulty and had to replace it. They kept the car over the weekend. Monday they got the part and replaced it (another clock spring). Picked up car - light out......Until last week. Took car to dealer on my lunch hour. Mechanic said that there has to be something else wrong with the car and that he can't fix it on short notice. I have to take them my car again next week so the mechanic can call Chrysler to try and figure out what could be the problem. The mechanic thinks that it could be a wiring problem. Stay tuned for any update next week or whenever I get my car back.

Headed on an emergency trip to Florida. The morning I arrive do not even go to hospital to see relative but go to a Dodge Dealership in Lakeland, FL. The vehicle is still under orginal warranty and I want it fix. I left on a Sunday so I could not get it taken care of till arriving on Monday morning. They find the problem except they cannot get the part till Wednesday the day I am leaving to get back home for work.

The dealership gave me an invoice to take to my local Dodge dealer (DiNovo). Well DiNovo's say I am now on my extended warranty. BULL.

It is in the shop right now after more than a month waiting to get it fix. The parts (wiring harness and clock spring) MUST be really hard to come by. It will not be done today!!

The dealership gave me a loaner car which my wife is driving because it can ONLY go local because tranny is going (1994 Chrysler LeBaron). My daughter has a soccer game in WV. I am at work and my wife has to drop son off at his soccer practice.

I am surprised there is only one other complaint because I heard this is very common. Which makes me wonder why Dodge did not issue a recall. At the local dealership they had to follow a sheet that was pages long on this problem. HMMMMM........

If our 96 dodge had not just died we would not be put out. As it is this is really annoying considering what one pays for this vehicle.

This car has been in the repair shop 8 tiimes for the same problem and the car was purchased the 1st part of January. The most recent time in the repair shop was May 14, 2005. The problems started happening as little as 2 weeks after the original purchase. It seems to me after the 3rd or fourth time of repair Chrysler Corporation would have declared this car a lemon under the "Lemon Law" statutes, and would have replaced the car or something. During the duration of this problem I have lost 46 hours of pay getting this vehicle to and from the repair shop, starting from the 3rd week in January to the present time. I would never ever purchase another Daimler- Chrysler product as long as I'm able to purchase a car again.
