Had the hatch "fixed" at the dealer the day after we purchased it and thought that would be the end of it.

Now 2 months later we are running into the same problem. It will not latch completely using the remote or the button on the dashboard. The car is scheduled for service to address the head padding recall and calibration adjustment to allow use of the electrical motor above 62 miles per hour. We will see what is to be done about the hatch issue.

Otherwise we find the car fun to drive using the coaching screen to get the most out of the electric power. Plenty of head room for someone tall. Easy to maneuver. Good visibility around. Definitely cooler inside on hot days with beige interior and white paint.

Thought that was the end of the issue...Now 2 months later we are at it again, rear gate will not latch from the remote or the latch button on the dash. This is what prompted me to look if this was an isolated event and it is obviously quite common. Too bad, we do like to drive the car otherwise, gas mileage is at 40mpg.

Took car to dealer. They don't know how to solve the problem. They say Ford doesn't have any other complaints about the rear hatch not locking properly.

The rear hatch will not latch properly. Sometimes when opening the hatch, it unlatches, but does not lift completely.

The vehicle has a power rear hatch. When all the windows and doors are closed it builds up pressure and the rear hatch will not close all the way causing it to star ajar. Dealer says there is no adjustment to locking mechanism and they don't know how to release the pressure that is caused by the vehicle. It you leave a window part. Down or a door open it works fine. You would think that Ford would have put a pressure release flap or switch in the vehicle or tested this during production.
