The rear window defrost used to work sometimes and the issue was raised multiple times to Ford without their being able to locate the issue. After the dealership investigated the issue, the unit has stopped working completely. Not at all!
Complaint: Rear sliding window will not open
Resolution: Replace rear sliding window control switch - AUTH CODE: 009545
Since this repair my rear window defrost only worked intermittently. Though reported multiple times Formula Ford could replicate the issue in the shop.
After the warranty expired the dealership was magically able to reproduce the rear defrost issue, claiming there is a short and the entire rear window assembly would need to be replaced with me absorbing the cost of $1317.59 (as the truck was no longer under warranty!). Though it was reported multiple times since the window control switch was replaced the dealership declined to recognize this. The Dealership did call Ford for assistance and the fee was lowered to $378.76. I declined on principle. Total cost for no repairs $69.95. Laughably, the cause was determined to a short in the unit but the fuse never blew out.
