Explorer Sport Trac

Since my 4 wheel drive doesn't engage, I've noticed on 3 occasions when I try to make a left hand turn into my driveway, the steering feels like it has no power.....this has been a problem since my 4 wheel drive doesn't work, never had it before. Anyone else having this problem?
