Shortly after we bought the vehicle as a used vehicle, we realized the gauge was all over the place. Sometimes way off the gauge to the right, sometimes it shows no gas. Sometimes it seems to work. We had the pump/sending unit replaced ($400.00) and it still don''t work. Mechanic says Ford has no replacement gauges available. &$#@#$%

I looked online to see if there were any fixes for a fuel gauge for 2005 Sport Trac. WOW! Seems like I am not the only one with that problem. The only difference is that mine registers way past full when it isn't, but the "Low fuel" indicator dings when it is low. How can a company have this many complaints and not think it is their responsibility to repair it? Should have known better than to purchase a FORD!
