Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

Put kids in car seats. Got in driver's seat and closed door and side airbags deployed. Ford is acting like this is the first time it's ever happened but I see lots of complaints about it online. Nothing done, so far. Waiting to see if it is covered on insurance. Local Ford dealership believes vehicle is totaled because they cannot put air bags back in and guarantee safety afterwards.

The contact owns a 2005 Ford Explorer Sport Trac. When the contact attempted to close the driver side door, all of the side curtain air bags deployed except for the steering wheel air bag. The contact did not notice any differences in the vehicle prior to the failure. The manufacturer would not diagnose the vehicle because the contact cut the air bags out of the vehicle to see if the vehicle could be driven to his residence.
