I bought this Sport Trac new $38,000 + was the sticker price, overall very expensive for a truck. I always had it parked in the garage and used it an average of 7500 miles a year for the entire time. I have receipts for the 3000 interval oil changes. Some of which were done at the same dealer. I never towed, I always treated it nice.

Last September it started running rough so I brought it back to the dealer. They told me 8000.00 for a long block due to the crappy valve system guides and that this is the first case they have seen with low mileage. Outright Liars, you can read about this problem in other rants all over the internet.

I have been a Ford guy for 40 years. I can not express my disappointment in both the dealer and the Ford product itself. Built Ford tough means "Paid off politicians and get away with selling cheap unsafe product". This engine block has many bad reviews starting as early as 2003. I did not think to check before I bought mine. 4.6 with either 252 or 292 horsepower. That was just the engine. The 6 speed transmission has more bad reviews than the engine. It went into a lot of Ford's. They shift hard and harder, most people just bought a transmission. Mine just started with the trans problem before the engine went. 69,000 miles on a 7 year old car. Bad engine and bad transmission. WTF Ford.
