Driving in traffic, there is a loud clung as the gear changes. The Company said the computer cannot generate a code therefore that is how the transmission suppose to work. I have driven many other automatic vehicles and this is the first time I am feeling never to drive an automatic again. The company know there is a problem but do not want to accept it or cannot fix it.

I have a 2007 Ford Ranger and at 400 km it started to slam into gear. From a stopped position when you take off it will slam into gear. It seems worse in reverse. The dealer has had it in 3 times and can not find the problem. They hooked it to the computer and it shifts to code. They took it for a drive and could not make it happen so they say there is nothing they can do. I tried to get a hold of the president of Ford but you cant get these kind of guys off there high horse. So someone under him phoned me, he talked to the enginering dept, and they said to adjust the shifter cable. They adjusted the cable and my son picked up the truck for me and he said it did it as soon as he left. So their shot in the dark was wrong also.
I will be going soon for my 10,000km service soon and will tell them again. It is such a pain, what can you suggest? This is my first new truck in my life, and first and last Ford. Toyota is coming soon as i can get rid of this lemon. Thanks.

Ranger FX4 Level II 4.0L V6
I bought a new Ford Ranger FX4 Level II in January 2007. A month later, there was a violent shaking from the transmission happening once in a while. It feels like if all the wheels are jammed, then it comes loose and the truck just "jumps". I went to the dealership to have it checked, but of course they didn't find anything wrong. I went back every 5000km since then and reported the same problem all the time. Their computer don't give any code so they told me it was nothing... the problem must be behind the steering wheel... I plan to change my vehicle in December 2009 and I will buy from another company. The truck is very nice but this problem is really annoying and the company just deny it.
