Ford TSB #SSM 47456
2016 Ford Ranger
TSB Document:
Affected Component: POWER TRAIN
- Summary
- Some 2015-2018 Ranger 4WD vehicles equipped with a 6R80 transmission may exhibit a slight shudder/vibration on take-off. This may be due to excessive drive shaft angles. A driveshaft angle measurement of both driveshafts should be performed, refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 205-01. Pay attention to the driveshaft orientation as shown in Step 4, illustration number E211631. Following driveshaft measurements, use the appropriate Ford Scan tool, select and monitor PIDS on the TCM for accelerator pedal position (APP), RPM, vehicle speed, torque converter slip desired and torque converter slip actual. To assist with the investigation use the Report a Vehicle Concern link at the bottom of the OASIS report and submit a Global Concern Report (GCR) with all findings and mention of any accessories fitted to the vehicle should be submitted.
