Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

My wife and I both own 1995 Ford Taurus's. Ironically, in the last 2 weeks, both cars have the exact same symptom... The rear brake locks up on one side (Caliper problem??) causing the car to suddenly lose most of it's power, (like pulling something heavy suddenly). The car then begins to shake, until you have to either slow down or stop. One time the brake was so hot (Drivers side rear) that it was visually smoking. The biggest problem is that it does not happen all of the time, but again, both cars have the same problem. My mechanic said that when the car does it next time, to bring it to him, assuming it is during his working hours.... Any help / suggestions out there is greatly appreciated... (Pete)
