My wife and I both own 1995 Ford Taurus's. Ironically, in the last 2 weeks, both cars have the exact same symptom... The rear brake locks up on one side (Caliper problem??) causing the car to suddenly lose most of it's power, (like pulling something heavy suddenly). The car then begins to shake, until you have to either slow down or stop. One time the brake was so hot (Drivers side rear) that it was visually smoking. The biggest problem is that it does not happen all of the time, but again, both cars have the same problem. My mechanic said that when the car does it next time, to bring it to him, assuming it is during his working hours.... Any help / suggestions out there is greatly appreciated...
