I bought a used 98 Ford Taurus SE a few months back. The car was very clean, sharp and ran well. Drove for long and tested it several times before committing to buy. A couple of weeks later, the "Service Engine Soon" light came on. So I took it to the mechanic and got it serviced. But the light would not go off. The light may have no significance here, but it definitely is very annoying. Maybe some sensor is bad. Don't know, haven't got it checked. But this light intermittently comes on and off any time. For days, I would not see this light, and then for weeks and weeks, it would stay on. I get my oil changes done regularly and don't see why it asks you to get it serviced all the time.

We were driving to go out of town and the car was running just fine and about 2hours away from home and the head gasket blew...... What a bitch at the time our 2 year old child was in the car and at that time we were taking him back and forth to a hospital that is 3 hours away from home do to medical problems.
