The wipers occasionally go off with no warning for no reason. Usually when I'm making a left-hand turn, but not always. Definitely irritating.

Everytime we turn the car on the windshield wipers start. It is very annoying and you feel like a fool when your wipers are going and it is a beautiful sunny day. It has been doing this since day one of having the car. It use to belong to my parents which they did not drive a lot. just to the store ect. We don't drive it that much either. We are retired. Just use it for personal reasons. It will wipe once and stop for a second or 2 and than wipe once and it continues to do this the whole time the car is on. You can not turn it off. When it first started it didn't happen as often. Still annoying but didn't come on as often. Now it is constantly coming on. It drives me crazy. What can we do to solve the problem. I will NEVER EVER OWN ANOTHER FORD TAURUS. IF ONLY WE COULD FIX THIS PROBLEM

Ford needs to recall these Taurus'. Bought the car with 88,000 miles and had to immediately put over $4000.00 worth of auto repair into it and now I got a MONEY PIT piece of garbage.

Now the wipers are going on by themselves in dry weather and can't shut them off. The same day the air conditioner goes out. Had ice cold nice a/c and now nothing. Check engine light came on 2 weeks ago and Auto Zone coded it out to be an EGR issue.

This car is too expensive to maintain and it doesn't even have 100,000 miles on it. Ford needs to recall their garbage. I will stick to GM from now on because I had a 1991 Olds 88 for 12 years and in that 12 years, I only spent $2000.00 on car repairs and that car gave me 200,000 glorious miles. It has me so mad that I feel like Ford owes me another car or some money.

On a hot day my windshield wipers come on all by themselves (mostly after signaling - but not always) and you can't turn them off and wear the w/s wipers out. In the summer I take out the fuse - but they will come on by themselves in the winter as well.

I've had this car for 5 years and it's caused me nothing but trouble. The windshield wipers come on by themselves, an electrical problem tied to a LOT of electrical problems. I ended up having soundless speakers and a CD player that would come on and off by itself. The final straw was the breaking of my power steering system. In addition to replacing the power steering pump (400$) I needed to replace the pins (or whatever they are called) that actually make the wheels turn (900$). This is in addition to suspension problems (700$) before I could even get the car to a safe driving level. Not to mention that within a year of getting the car the speakers quit working, the windshield wipers were coming on by themselves, replaced the motor mounts and a catalytic converter. And then last year I replaced the entire fuel system, new brakes and brake pads, and new tires. This year I replaced the breaks again and then the car was having an undiagnosed problem shifting. This car is a piece of sh*t!

I will be driving down the road and the windshield wipers will come on by themselves. Sometimes only once and sometimes it seems they will never stop.
