I just purchased my 2012 Ford Taurus a few months ago and I had never had a vehicle with keyless START/STOP before. I was driving at 5am on my way to work, doing about 45-50 mph on a 2 lane divided highway. I keep my cell phone on a clip on the HVAC vent and it was plugged in to the charger. Apparently that day the cell phone and cord were hanging a couple inches lower and as I was using GPS, the phone touched the START/.STOP switch and cut off the vehicle was I was driving ! Very scary ! So I coasted onto the quasi-shoulder and stopped the car. I was able to start it right up as normal but luckily no traffic was around me otherwise there may have been a different outcome. I read another blog on this site where someone had the same problem. I googled the issue but didn't find anything on it. It's as if it's supposed to be that way?? This is NOT safe and there should be a safeguard that the vehicle does not cut off while in DRIVE.
