Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

The air bag light came on in my 2007 Hyundai Elantra. When I took it to the dealership, they said that there was some kind of electrical failure in the driver's side buckle assembly. I have heard of similar issues in 2006-2008 sonatas. I am concerned that this may be a factory defect.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing where the technicians stated the seat belt buckle on the front driver side had to be replaced. The contact was also informed that there were two recall repairs under NHTSA campaign id number: 11V143000 (air bags:frontal:sensor/control module) and NHTSA campaign id number: 11V179000 (air bags:frontal:sensor/control module) that were associated with the VIN that had to be performed. The recall repairs were performed, however, the dealer refused to replace the buckle, stated it was not covered under the platinum 100,000 mile warranty and stated the contact would have to pay $700 to have it replaced. Mileage of failure 70,110.

Pass seat belt sticks. Passenger side seat belt would not unlatch so I took the vehicle to a Hyundai dealer they jerked on seatbelt it and it unlatched, then stated they could do nothing else. This belt just unlatches when you pull it.
