When driving then braking I/ we noticed that the Jeep had vibration and chattering, shaking feeling at 65 mph on the highway. Then started to notice chatter and scrapping sound at lower speeds like 25-35 mph. So looking at the rotors I found the right rear to have (2) two grooves on it. So I took it to big O in sparks, nv 89431 for a brake inspection and they showed me that the brake pads still had 65 to 70 percent left and that the rotors were crackedin several places. They had to replace both rotors and brake pads. I feel this is a defect in the product and should be investigated. If they came apart while driving someone could loose control and possiblly loose there life.

About a week ago from today (10/25/2020) my car started having issues starting up. Everything blinks on my dash and acts like it doesn't want to start up. It says to service brakes and service transmission. I bought this car with almost 90K miles almost 2 years ago and it has 122K miles, first time I've ever had a problem. I saw that there is a recall for the transmission I am just unsure what to do about it.

On starting brake warning indicator came one dash. Brake indication light came on. Parking brake had not been applied. Shifted to reverse. Vehicle would not move. Shifted to drive. Vehicle moved forward. Drove to get gas. Parking brake again engaged by its self. Shifting from drive to reverse to drive and pressing gas and brake released with a jump of the vehicle. Vehicle parked until able to get to service center.

Jeep dealers have been unresponsive in resolving/fixing recall W47 leading to the lack of functionality of my Jeep Cherokee 2015, requiring tow from chester, md to alexandria, va given the vehicle could no longer be driven. Dealer now suddenly has "recall fix" (not available after 9 previous calls/messages between 7/21/2020 - 8/22/2020 when dealer reps never returned a message/call). They claim as of today (after Jeep was dropped at dealer by tow truck), the recall fix has been done - but say the transmission light is still on and needs to be repaired/paid for by the customer. I believe this could be further result of not fixing a dangerous recall situation which could have damaged the car beyond the recall related to front wheels, transmission, loss of power, loss of park function. My vehicle stopped running, all transmission service/ABS and parking brake service lights went on simultaneously and the Jeep rolled backward until I turned it off. Thankfully I had gotten off of busy highway and experienced this at an exit and then parking lot where I waived other drivers around me, parked the vehicle and then it was placed on a flat bed tow truck. Dealers are not taking this recall seriously. More details attached. The issue has not yet been resolved by ourisman alexandria where my vehicle was towed and is still located.

The service shifter alert comes on every time I start the car almost. It started perhaps a month ago or so. It was intermittent at first and restarting the vehicle would clear it often but has gotten worse overtime. It now occurs every time I start the vehicle. I worry that it may go out and the polar is very generic. That's called a couple of mechanics including dealer and they're equally generic about what it may be, and just to get it looked at will cost me $120 an hour. The only thing that was there within my power to troubleshoot was to make sure firmware was up-to-date and I have done that but the alert is still there.

Had brakes and rotors replaced less than 6 months ago and now I'm being told that I need new front brakes and rotors again. There is chugging with my transmission, and a lot of vibration. I am unable to upload anything without having a mechanic take everything apart to expose it, and I can't afford that at this time.

The brakes light will randomly come on and the brakes lock and nothing can be done. You're stuck. It came on while driving yesterday and I was unable to press the brake pedal. It started initially April 2018 and the dealership kept it for weeks- but was evasive on what the actual problem was. Whatever was done -did not resolve the issue. Ive found multiple online forums with people discussing the same issues. Example: Https://www.jeepcherokeeclub.com/threads/2015-Cherokee-brake-system-lock-up.105530 they have advised that there is an electrical short causing sensor issues with the brakes on this year and model we continue to have the same issue and it does not appear to be a coincidence

I was approaching a 4 way stop with my children in the vehicle, going approx. 10mph. I pressed on the brakes but was unable to stop, making me go through the intersection with vehicles turning into my lane. The brake pedal was rock solid and locked up, and was unable to be pressed. During that time the service elctronic braking light populated on my dashboard.

Car will turn off. Turn the key and pull it out, car stays running. When this happens, car is in a possessed state where brake lights stay on at all times, turn signals do not work, wipers do not work, horn does not work. Took it to dealership and was told there are no codes, so nothing they can do. Pull the battery cable off to shut the car down. This will happen mid drive so all of a sudden you'll lose your turn signals, wipers, horn, brake lights, door locks, and main light control. When you pull over, only way to turn the car off is to pull the battery cable.

I was trying to call again, to park the same inside my parking space inside the condominium, started to make a very lucky noise and not calling, had to maneuver the vehicle without starting and still call a winch, to take to my reliable mechanic, that until today we can not find out what the problem is this vehicle, whenever we press the brake pedal, the message appears and does not start the vehicle.

My vehicle's emergency brake release continues to remain in the on position, preventing me from driving my car from time to time, killing my battery power multiple times-I have replaced my battery twice in the last year. I had the Jeep dealership in white bear mn charge me $185 for a diagnosis and the tell me I have to fully replace the brakes control box with a cost of more than $800 and mentioned the warranty does not cover this due to the time frame, but my concern has been expressed since I've own the car in 2015 and only have 65,000 currently on the car that I can no longer drive and yet afford to fix since I am a college student. Please help.

Electronic parking brake module connector water intrusion which causes the module to short out and the wiring harness corrosion. This causes the parking break to engage and disengage without warning. This also prompts an error that the 4WD is unavailable. Confirmed with patriot Jeep in oakland md that the 4WD will not work on 11/18/2019. I was able to get my car to move from my driveway by putting my seat belt on and holding the break, and then pressing the gas to release the parking break. Mopar told me this was not covered under warranty, and I found numerous complaints on this issue. I was also able to find a bulletin published by mopar about this issue. It appears there is water getting into the vehicle causing corrosion which could lead to an accident if someones brake would engage, or 4WD would fail in inclement weather.

While I was driving home from school, the "service parking brake" light came up on the dash. I pulled over and turned off the engine and turned it back on. The light did not come back on, so I didnt think it was an issue. Two days later I got into my car and turned on the engine and the light came on again. This time I was not able to remove the emergency parking brake. I had to search online and found out that the parking brake automatically comes off if you put your seat belt on and put the vehicle into D or R. since this happened the lever to remove the parking break would not work at all. Every time I pressed the button, it said service parking brake. I also read online that a tsb was issued for this problem. The problem was that the parking brake module in the rear, as well as the harness needed to be replaced since it was corroded. How would something that is in the rear of the vehicle, hidden behind the side panels get corroded and have the owner be responsible for damages if this is something that should be placed in a location where it cannot get wet or corroded.

We bought a 2015 Jeep Cherokee in 2016 and without being told of the issues with the transmissions issues. We have had our Jeep in the shop four times with transmissions issues of shifting hard and now going into neutral when in drive and the brakes going hard and the Jeep coming to a stop. The anit slide has now came on and the Jeep shakes. The updates came one day when I was getting onto the highway going 65 mph and the Jeep went to 30 mph with my grandkids in the car and two disels one behind me blowing the horn because he almost hit me and one to the side of me. My husband was coming home from a dr visit again the Jeep went into a neutral state while in the drive position and the Jeep stopped and he was almost hit then the Jeep jerked and went into gear so he went into a shopping center and had to stop and kill the Jeep and restart the Jeep to make the Jeep restart just to get it home. It went back to the shop that night! we have had the Jeep in the shop for hard shifting when taking off and now it is hard shifting when taking off and down shifting, anti slide randomly comes on, brakes are not properly stopping the car. Go to the dealer where we bought it and they only offered $7500 for it when we owe $15, 000 and this is so ridiculous. Called Jeep and awaiting a call, they stated they have to call the dealer. In the mean time I had to buy another car because ours is to unsafe to drive! the Jeep is sticking in gear and the tac meter is staying on 3 or 4. then when you turn the Jeep off and turn it back on it may or may not work. We have backed it out of our driveway and put into drive and it shifts so hard into first and second gear. Now since the last time we picked it up from the shop the Jeep has now started loosing power when you attempt to drive. We have parked the Jeep and decided it isn't safe!

Was driving down the interstate at 70mph the engine abruptly shut off. The dashboard read "shift to P then desired gear". this has also happened when coming to a stop. Attempting to restart the engine causes the starter to run for about 45 seconds and then the engine will slowly sputter to life. This vehicle is unsafe and there are a massive amount of complaints about this spanning back over 4 years.

Car has been stutter starting. Once it finally starts I get an error code that says service park breaks service transmission. Then when putting Jeep into gear the transmission will shift hard and you can feel the car jerk and hear a clunking sound. Once you stop and turn the car off and back on a couple of times the error messages will go away and Jeep will drive normally. Two days ago Jeep had been driving normal. I stopped to get gas. After filling my tank I returned to the car to start it and the car would not start after inserting and turning the key I would not get a click or nothing. I also had no lights, not on the dash or out side of the car. After trying to jump start the car unsuccessfully I ended up having the car towed home. Once home the battery was removed and taken to be tested. I was told the battery was bad so I replaced the battery and Jeep started up fine however after starting I received the error message service park break and Jeep again would shift really hard. Error message went away Jeep started ro drive fine. Drove to the doctor and when I pulled into parking space Jeep got stuck in neutral. Finally got the Jeep to go into gear and went to drive back home and Jeep would not shift right and again jumped into neutral where it got stuck. Finally got home and parked Jeep waiting to get it into the dealer now. Jeep has 95000 miles on it.
