CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2019 Cherokee is racking up engine complaints for suddenly shutting down while driving. But the problem could possibly be related to the increasingly defective 9-speed transmission which suffers from hard shifts, lurching problems, and a wiring harness defect that can cause sudden shutdowns or an unexpected shift into neutral.

Design flaw that allows rain to enter both front doors. This is both a health hazard (mold) and will certainly lead to rusted out doors and significantly reduce the value. Manufacturer obviously is/was aware of the problem with 2016 through 2019 vehicles as water intrusion is not a common reported problem with vehicles built 2020 to 2022. Manufacturer needs to own up to faulty design and retrofit all Jeep Cherokees sold as 2016 - 2019 model years. Satisfactory solution/repair is demanded.
Update from Feb 12, 2024: Water intrusion now includes rear cargo area.
