I've read many reports of the same problem for other Jeep owners. The vehicle loses power while being driven. Steering gone. Dashboard gone. Brakes gone.
This has happened multiple times at 60+ mph on a highway, stopped in traffic on the highway, driving in traffic through the Lincoln Tunnel, and other times fortunately at slower speeds on rural roads to / from snowboarding.
This is apparently not covered by warranty. The only resolution that Jeep has offered was to bring the vehicle in so they can run a test, and depending on the results of the test, they will replace the PCM at full cost...which is not a 100% fix of the problem based on what reports I have seen.
This is unacceptable considering the dangerous situation the faulty electrical system could put a driver in.
I am curious if this is something that anyone else has experienced and if so, was it fixed, how was it fixed, and did Jeep fix it?
