Left rear tailgate power lift shorted out filled with water. Water gets in the power lift thru wiring it filled up with water and shorted out when I opened it in the rain it just kept trying to push gate open more till I removed plastic molding inside to unplug it then it stopped. I popped the liftoff so I could close the tail gate a few weeks later I put it back on pressed the button heard beeps but didn't close I pushed it closed by hand with about 3' to go heard a noise and rusty water came running out of split on unit jeep said no recall on my vin # go to parts dept and buy a new one $374 not fixed yet
