Still fighting with local dealership to get it replaced. I have original power train warranty still and 3rd party warranty and am getting the run around about fixing it, and it's my only vehicle!

Grand Cherokee

  • Automatic transmission
  • 82 miles

Brought a brand new 2017 Grand Jeep Cherokee with 18 miles on it. Had the SUV for 3 days and the transmission went out, yes covered under warranty. All was GREAT until June 2018, pulled off from a red light and the transmission would not switch gears. Had the car towed it was the transmission AGAIN, was told there were "bad" computer parts but all should be fine as they used a "different" vendor. All was fine until July 2, 2018 was pulling onto the interstate and it happened again transmission would not change gears. Sat on the side of the freeway for 1 1/2 hours waiting on a tow truck.

Got a call the next day, it was the same computer issue but this time it was really fixed. Got the SUV back had it for 2 days and the touchscreen, gas reading, basically everything froze. Took the SUV back in, yup computer problems again. SUV was repaired had it back for less than 24 hours and the sunroof would not close. At this point I threw in the white flag, contacted an attorney and proceeded with the lemon law. Chrysler / Jeep has agreed to pay my car off, pay my attorney fees and send me a check for an undisclosed amount of money.

Chrysler / Jeep knows there are issues with the transmissions in the 2017 but they refuse to recall and correct the problem. If they don't do a recall soon I fear someone will but hurt badly or even killed. I used to love the Jeep products, all I drove for years but now that I have read all the complaints etc, I will never own another Grand Jeep Cherokee
