CarComplaints.com Notes: On August 16th, 2012 Jeep stopped production of the the Jeep Liberty, marking the end of a troublesome journey for the SUV.

All in all, the 2012 Liberty actually excels off-road, but since 99% of drivers never take this thing off pavement, that becomes somewhat of a moot point. The Liberty suffers from the worst fuel economy in its class (16/22 MPG) and offers an uncomfortable ride with suspect braking ability.

The drivers seat in my Jeep Arctic has started to crack. At started out as a small inch or so and now it runs along the seem about 10 inches. Very disappointed in the quality of the seat material.

Liberty Arctic 6 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 19,000 miles

I've had seven Jeeps - the last one I had over 180,000 miles on never had an issue with interior. I work in an office so no big time wear and tear on the car's interior - seems this Arctic model didn't do proper testing on neoprene fabric for seats - passenger side looks worn too - seems to fail from inside. I'm not overweight I only weigh 185 pounds wife is at 125 so what's the deal. I'm off to the dealer next week. If they don't replace the seat(s) I'm off to court I guess. Really like the automobile but very unhappy about this issue.
