Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Re: safety recall N28/NHTSA 13V-234 transmission oil cooler tube in contact with the power steering fluid tube which may cause a loss of transmission fluid and result in a loss of transmission function which will increase the risk of a crash. I received recall notice approximately 2 months ago. I contacted the dealer (billy bender Chrysler Jeep Dodge) where I purchased the vehicle. They stated that they had me on a waiting list to get the required parts. It has been one month without notice that the safety recall parts were supposed to be ordered so I contacted the dealer again to check on parts. Dealer advised me that I was currently 9th on the list to receive the safety recall parts. However, Chrysler Jeep was only sending the dealer one (1) set of parts per month so it would be approximately 9 months before they will have the parts to fix my vehicles' safety recall. This is unacceptable for a safety recall to go 2 months without repair let alone for Chrysler to only supply only one part per month to dealers which will add 9 additional months (since I'm 9th on the waiting list) to get a safety recall fixed!!!!

Safety recall N28/NHTSA 13V-234 transmission oil cooler tube just called the Jeep dealership in lexington park, md to schedule the repair and they put me on a waiting list. Not a big deal but im number 18 and they are getting about one part in a week. That means I have to wait 18 weeks? seems Chrysler would pump out these parts faster.

Safety recall N28/NHTSA 13V-234 - transmission oil cooler tube when I contacted my local dealer about scheduling this recall work, I was told that Chrysler was only shipping 1 replacement part per week to the dealer and they were creating a first-come, first-served list to complete the recall work. Chrysler claims to be "sincerely concerned about your safety", yet they can't provide enough replacement parts to ensure the recall work is done in a timely manner!!!

While backing out of a parking space, I was moving the shifter to reverse and heard a clunk sound. It was not a smooth shift. Immediately the check engine light came on. I backed the vehicle out of space and move the automatic shifter to drive and heard another clunking noise. The check engine light stayed on. As I tried to pick up speed the transmission would not shift and the RPM's went higher and higher. We drove the car up to 40 mph and the transmission would not shift. So we decided to take the car home and not operate the vehicle as the transmission was not shifting properly or not at all.

I was informed of safety recall N28 / NHTSA 13V-234 back in July of 2013. I called Jeep directly in order to resolve this recall only to be told there are no parts available at that time.. I called Jeep & my local dealer in August 2013 & still no parts nor a response time... it is now Sept 30, 2013 & I am still being told no updates on when parts will become available... this is extremely concerning & at the same time disturbing..
