The contact owns a 1998 Mazda 626. When attempting to start the vehicle, it failed to shift into neutral or reverse. The contact stated that the vehicle felt sluggish while driving. There were no warning indicators. The vehicle has not been diagnosed. The current mileage is 106,138 and the failure mileage was unknown.

While driving at any speed and with no warning, the vehicle will shut off, causing consumer to pull over. It will become hard to get the vehicle restarted. Dealer notified. The consumer states at normal highway speeds, there was transmission trouble (slipping into gears) overdrive light turned on and off. The result was the transmission burned and had to be replaced. The cause was linked to the computer.
