I have loved this car for the 11 months I've owned. No issues, but all of a sudden when going in reverse I felt something jerky. Didn't take it very seriously until a week later when starting it in the morning, it was idling slightly rough and didn't feel right more often. I tried replacing the battery and once I did that, the car just got much worse slightly after. it was jerking like crazy while driving and no check engine light at the time. I took it to work the next morning and it was idling horribly and shut off in drive twice. Immediately drove to auto zone since it just got a check engine light and there were multiple codes. p2096 post catalyst fuel trim system too lean, p0172 system too rich bank 1, and po300 random misfire detected. tried putting fuel system cleaner and cataclean in the engine as well as changing the spark plugs and none of that fixed it. Neither did changing the Mass air flow sensor, o2 sensor. or purge valve, as were recommended to me from people online to try replacing.

Then drove it to the garage in the snow going 50 on backroads because it wanted to shut off on me and was horrible below 2k rpms. Took a week but they believed the cat needed replaced in the manifold. Told the dealer about it cuz I've only had for 11 months and was getting quoted around 1.5k for parts and labor. They had me tow the car to the dealer cuz they didn't believe it was the cats. 2 weeks later they tested everything and looked everything over and ALSO determined that BOTH cats needed replaced. what a freaking joke. now getting quoted nearly 3k to fix it. how can catalytic converters go out at 100k miles exactly??? What caused it in the first place? What a BUNCH OF HORSE SH*T! now I'm in the hole with a car making payments and now need to find my own catalytic converters second hand or I'm gonna be buried in debt. cannot afford 3k in repairs.
