brakes dragging

the root cause of the issue was a frozen caliper bracket on the rear drivers side which resulted in creating excessive heat and premature wear of the pads and rotors, cause and effect. To my surprise they stated the work is not covered under warranty because it is a known issue for our area I find that troubling. The hardware (rear caliper) that failed to work properly and is under warranty, resulted in the excessive heat by not properly releasing the break pad and causing all this issue with the breaks, Cause and effect. If I am correct what happened is called brake dragging in Mazda Service Alert no. SA-019/20 pg 3 and pg 4.
