On 7/16/2020 I bought a brand new 2020 Mazda CX-5 Grand Reserve Touring. Three days later someone backed into my car in a tight parking lot. I saw it happen as I was coming out of the building. They just tapped the rear left corner of the bumper. It left a little scratch and a tiny dent. I drove my car every day and then on 7/27 my car had “Blind spot monitoring sensor malfunction".
On 8/5 I took it in for service and was told that little bump had damaged a sensor and it would cost $800 to replace it. This is without even touching the scratch. I left very disappointed that Mazda designed a car so poorly they’d put sensors in the bumper that couldn’t take a 1 mph (probably less than that) hit. Anyone else have this problem?
