Chronic problem with Mazda 6 headlights low beam. Watch the Youtube video "Mazda 6 headlight issue". I filed a complaint with NHTSA but I doubt they will take action unless more people come forward and file complaints.

MAZDA6 I Sport 2.5L

  • Automatic transmission

Very poor headlights, dim, about the same as two flashlights on the fenders, bulbs last approx 8 to 10 months, upgraded to phillips X treme vision +130 bulbs, had lights aligned, little better but not what they need to be, 3 choices recall, go to HIDs, trade in, actually dangerous on unlit roads.

The headlight bulb is blowing off frequently, the hard part is the replacement cost.

The bulb is around $15.00, but the labor charges are pretty high, as one should lift the car on hoist, remove tire, open the panel behind the bumper and get access to the bulb.

If once in a couple of years it can be ignored, starting March 2013 to August 2014 I replaced 5 bulbs, the first two were covered under warranty, the rest I paid from my pocket as my warranty is expired.

If it is a circuit issue it will be nice if Mazda can recall and replace the circuit
