I bought this car after test driving the usual suspects (Honda ,Honda, Honda) and it handled the best ( Didn't remind me of loosing an axle or being hit by an SUV) so I paid a little too much for it even though I had read there the paint is lousy, and after seeing a brand new model on the dealers loti with chips!

in less then a week ( (I am not exactly sure of when it happened because it isn't like I drove behind a construction truck and can remember WHY THE PAINT CHIPPED ON TH BONNET AND ABOVE THE PASSENGERSIDE WHEEL WELL!) chips started to appear .

I have a 2003 motorcycle that I take out all year and it hasn't any dings or chips in the paint and my last car a 1989 Honda Accord didn't have anything but the usual rusted out rear quarter panels and only after 200,000 miles.

feel like I need to go to mechanic/body shop school just to have a car these days...

Contacted Mazda Corporate after noticing that that the manual said Mazda is not responsible for paint id f went thru car wash; well I didn't go thru a car wash, so perhaps the basic warranty will cover defective paint or I should say paint reminiscent of nail polish.

Will see and report to NIHS if something doesn't come of it and I will have to either clear coat the entire car or wrap it if this is how it is going to be, help!
