Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

The contact owns a 2001 Mazda Tribute. When the vehicle was stopped at a red light, it completely shut off. The failure recurred on multiple occasions. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.

The contact owns a 2001 Mazda Tribute. The contact stated that while driving approximately 25 mph and braking for a traffic stop, the vehicle accelerated with a rapid increase in engine rpms. After repeated attempts, the vehicle came to a stop. The contact would experience the failure sporadically and without warning. The vehicle was recently repaired under NHTSA campaign id number 12V357000 (engine and engine cooling, speed control). The malfunction happened after the recall remedy repair was performed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the defect. The approximate failure mileage was 199,900.
