Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

problem #3

350Z 6-cyl

  • Manual transmission
  • 38,000 miles

Perforated leather seat in my 2003 350Z popped open in hot weather. I was lucky enough to find the matching burnt orange leather on ebay and repaired locally. Additionally the regular leather on the seat is wearing extremely fast. It will have to be replaced as well. Burnt orange leather does not grow on trees around here. The mileage is low by many standards, but out of the 36K warranty window.

350Z track model driver's seat moves side to side when turning. Makes a knocking noise and you feel the seat shift. Has been verified by hill Nissan, but they say that there is no fix available for it, and that replacing the seat with a similar one would leave me with the same problem. They said if a fix became available, they would inform me. I am worried that the seat is not structurally sound. Date given for occurrence is a guess at first notice of it. It occurs constantly.
