head gasket blown -- 1987 Pickup:
Head gasket blown between cylinder 3 and 4. Symptom is loud knocking that occurs with any amount of acceleration when the engine is at low RPM. Solution is less than $50 worth of parts, but many hours of labor to remove and replace all of the parts connected to the cylinder head and manifolds. Read more »

The entire frame is rusted out on the truck. The mechanic told me that there is nothing I can do, no welding etc. All I can do is wait for the axle to drop, which can happen tomorrow or in the next year.
