I cannot tell you how bad this is! car out of warranty by 8 or 9 months. hardly used last year due to husbands heart problems. have only done 22,000 miles. Nissan want 6,000 pounds for a new gear box or 3,000 for a reconditioned one. we hire leased the car in 2010 and would have changed in October but due to my husbands heart op he had to retire so we used his small pension to purchase the juke at the end of the 3 year lease. it had only done about 16,000 miles then so saw no reason to expect the need for a new cvt gear box. Nissan just keep saying out of warranty. then they said we do not want you to worry about this lets just find out the problem and get you back on the road. we told them we had no money for this and we were assured by customer services that the minimum amount that they would contribute would be 40%. we knew we could not afford anything!! now Nissan say its 3,000 plus fitting and they are not contributing anything. we have found a proper car mechanic who knows what the problem is but Nissan say the parts are not available. its a new or recondition cvt gear box only. we have spoken to a man in Scotland who does the recondition cvt gear boxes for Nissan. he has said it is a common problem with this cvt gear box. the input bearing is faulty.it needs a new torte? converter and the transmission oil cooler needs flushing. our car is still in the garage. English warranty is only 3 years or 60,000 miles. Nissan America is ten years warranty or 120,000 miles. why? I have found several cvt gear box replacements on line that went 6, 18,months before they failed. 22,000? that's no mileage at all. I need to hear from people who have also had a problem with the cvt gear box? cvt gear box and engine have been changed in the new juke. I feel very angry my car was not recalled for this problem.
