Purchased certified used Juke. Didn't smell any fumes while test driving or driving home. Parked it in the garage over night. Next morning garage was full of gas fumes and so was the interior of the vehicle. According to Carfax it had already had the recalled fuel system problem fixed. Had a 3 day window to return this car for a full refund no questions asked. So that is what we did. Learned a huge lesson. Go to CarComplaints.com before buying a used car!!

Juke 1.6L

  • CVT transmission

The car has been in the shop since Dec.29 2014 because of the smell of fuel inside of car. The dealer says the fuel pressure sensor is leaking but is on back order and doesn't know when it will be available. 2 weeks and counting.

Update from Jan 15, 2015: The car was fixed 01/14/15 Dlr. went out of their way to solve problem.I was disappointed with Nissan corporate for not having a sufficient amount of sensors available to the dealers.

Called dealer to let them know about this nauseating fuel fumes inside of cabin. I thought maybe they didn't connect the fuel system properly, because the dealer was fixing another problem, the timing chain recall and it almost started right after. But apparently it was an unrelated problem, so they want almost $600 to fix it. In the meantime I'm barely driving this car because I feel it is dangerous, especially when smokers throw their cigarettes out the window.

There was a recall for this exact problem already back in 2012, and my car was fixed back then, but it never smelled like this before. So it was already recalled and fixed but the problem remains and has gotten worse. I'm waiting to hear from Nissan headquarters, it has been more than 4 days since I was told over the phone that I would be hearing back from Nissan in 2 days. Still waiting. I really pray that my junk doesn't ignite or blow up! It's a very unsafe situation.
