Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

The contact owns a 2004 Nissan Murano. The contact stated that gasoline fumes emitted outside of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, who stated that the exhaust manifold needed to be replaced in order to repair the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The VIN was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 39,000.

The contact owns a 2004 Nissan Murano. The contact stated that her vehicle made a cranking noise and exhaust fumes exited the tailpipe. The Nissan dealer diagnosed the failure as "engine sludge". before taking the vehicle to Nissan, a mechanic advised her to take it to a dealer because the engine was still under warranty. Nissan of North America denied the contact's claim and would not repair the vehicle under warranty. The purchase date and powertrain were unknown. The current mileage was 45,360 and failure mileage was 45,154.
