After only 8 months of purchasing a used 2005 Nissan Murano with 38,000 miles on it, as I am driving on the highway I started leaning on one side. Within a few days the seat completely gave up to the left and I was being thrown all over the place at the slightest turn. At the dealership they tell me I need a new seat track and that it will cost me $ 1,191 plus tax. Believe it or not they try to sell me a $ 550 60k mile service as they tell me that Nissan is not responsible for the busted track and they consider it "wear and tear". I guess I shouldn't have had tacos. I admit it. I farted all over the seat. That must have done it. The farts must have melted the bracket that holds the seat in place and caused the main frame of the guide to break. I believe the regional specialist at Nissan came to the same conclusion after her "thorough investigation'. She said something fishy must have happened for the track to break. Of course she did not know it was the beans in the taco. My assessment? The part is defective and they should issue a recall of the damn part, or at least take responsibility for the faulty design and repair the damage. My recommendation? STAY AWAY FROM NISSAN. They completely lost me as a customer and a supporter. They are no better than GE that builds appliances that break the day after the warranty expires. I hope the all go to hell at Nissan Co. and they are given a hot seat that breaks off so they end up in the middle of the burning flames.

I own a 2005 Nissan Murano that I purchased new. A few days ago when I got into the car the drivers seat seemed to come loose. It wobbles badly. I took the vehicle to the local Nissan dealership and was told that the seat bracket was broken and I would need a new seat. For the seat and installation the cost would be approximately $1,000. This car has 44,000 miles. I am the only driver and take exceptional care of the vehicle. After a number of exchanges with Nissan Customer Service I was told that Nissan has no obligation to repair the problem. I find through internet searches that this is a known problem. This is a serious flaw in design. How can Nissan dismiss itself from responsibility and liability for such a huge safety issue? I am furious and disgusted with Nissan. I will never own another Nissan!

I left my car at off airport parking for 3 days (6/25/09-6/28/09) every thing was fine with seat at drop off. Returned 6/28/09 to pick up vehicle at midnight. I took care of parking fees, then jumped in my ride....OH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! my ass sank with seat to the @#$% left driver's door in a hole... I try to adjust seat & it felt like a damn ball under my ass. I jumped out of my truck, screaming hysterically at the parking attendant...you guys broke my DAMN car seat...I rant & rage like a kid who has broken his brand new toy until the attendants says, we will fill out an incident report & you can call the boss in the am. I calmed down as reality kicked in....it's broken & has to be repaired. I drove 30 miles from JFK area to home in NJ. It was the worst @#%* ride of my life...It felt like I was sitting on a large ball, as I keep rolling around with every bump & curve the vehicle. Each time I rolled from side to side, I felt like I was loosing control of the vehicle....I gripped the steering so tight as my body rolled around..... prayed to get to my destination safely.......I could not wait to call the dealer in am..................
"Hello Ray/Nissan....I have a big problem"...what is it Ray said..Oh GOD the parking lot attendants broke my car seat.....Ray said...this might not be their fault....the 2005 NISSAN MURANO IS KNOWN TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM WITH BROKEN CAR SEAT....& my world was quiet & silent....Yess I did purchase bumper to bumper extended warranty. 3/2009...However am disappointed that this BEAUTIFUL WORK of ART is so delicate ...hit a small bump & things fall off OR BREAKS

I am extremely upset & very disappointed in Nissan. The driver's seat in my car has broken for the SECOND time in 2 years and Nissan refuses to admit that it is defective and refuses to pay for it. It costs $1000 to replace and that is just the bracket and not the actual seat! I urge all who are looking at Nissans to STAY AWAY!!!!! They are pieces of crap!!! My next car will definitely be either a Honda or Toyota! This is ridiculous! The car is falling apart and it is only 4 years old. I have a whole list of things that had to be replaced and fixed on the car. BUYER BEWARE!!!! STAY AWAY FROM NISSAN!!!! And don't bother calling Nissan Corporate - I was told Nissan is "not in a financial position to help at this time." Yeah right!! They are riding the recession wave like everyone else and using it as an excuse. I wonder if they will also have their hands out for a piece of the stimulus package! They're all jumping on the same wagon! SCUM!!!! I'm sure my seat would have not broken the bank for them!
PS The best was when I was told I broke the seat and that she (the Nissan rep) was not there when I broke it so therefore she can't help. Yeah....it's NEVER their fault!

The seat just collapsed whist driving which could cause a serious accident if it happened whilst driving at speed. Nissan need to consider this issue seriously and need to review this design fault before it kills someone. I am still awaiting what Nissan plan to do with my own car as it is a month out of warranty.

ok so i schedule my 2005 Mo for an oil change and tire rotation and a check up for the AWD. i bought the car used 6 months earlier and have only put 5,000 miles on it. i drop it of on 1/19 in the evening to have service on 1/20. on 1/20 i get a call from the dealer that it is ready to go. "the oil change is done, tires are rotated and we did a 27 point check and found no other problems." So i asked about the awd and the said it was fine. i said ok well i need to know if there are any other problems i need to know because this vehicle is going to Vermont from Maryland in a week. They said no it is fine. .....
fast forward to pick up day. 1/21 the pick up the car. drive off the dealer lot and notice my seat needs adjusting.....adjust it but it does not feel right and realize i am in a rocking chair. the seat was leaning to the left and rear. i turn right around and go back to the dealer. THe service manager reads the paper work and states that the technician noted the seat was broken when he got in. i said I was not made aware of this. He said well maybe he assumed that you knew that it was broken so he did not say anything. I said why would i not say something about something as big as that. He said i dont know but that but i am sure that is what happened with his assumption. THe fact is it broke while in their possession and was in perfect working order when dropped off. He agrees to repair for $650 which i am still not happy with but he wont budge. So it gets better....on 1/25 get a call from the service manager stating the seat frame was replaced and back on its tracks, but now it wont move forwards or backwards. they need to order another part. but wait, it was working until they broke the seat frame!! now my husband needs to leave on 1/28 at 8am and guess what...1/26 i all the service dept and they say oh we ordered the wrong part it was not what we really need to repair the car seat. so now the supposed correct part wont be in until 1/28 and installed until 1/29 So now we have to rent a car for $365 to take the trip to Vermont. I find this site searching for help with my situation and wow seems like this is a problem with the car not me.
NISSAN SERVICE STANDS BEHIND THE FACT THAT THIS SEAT WAS WELDED
