The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Murano. While coming to a stop at an unknown speed, the vehicle accelerated when the brake pedal was repeatedly depressed. The vehicle failed to decelerate and crashed into a brick building. The front passenger sustained injuries to the chest and both knees. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a mechanic and for severe front end damage. The building was also damaged. Prior to the crash, the front driver and passenger side windows along with all four power door locks activated independently while the vehicle was parked. The vehicle was being repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 76,000.

Nissan Murano door actuators have failed on 2 of 4 doors, leaving me unable to enter/exit my vehicle with the remote. In addition, I cannot open the trunk of the vehicle unless the passenger door actuator is working, which it does not. The inside door locks do not move, so I do not know if my car is ever locked or unlocked, again, safety concern. Please investigate this, as I know other owners have complained and Nissan continues to ignore this as an issue!!!

The vehicle was taken to a private mechanic where it was found that the alternator wires had failed and the battery was unable to be charged. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted about the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in the manufacturer's recall. The failure mileage was 121,923.

The intelligent key system and the key fob do not unlock the doors consistently. They do not unlock the driver or front passenger doors at all, and from time to time will unlock the rear doors. We have been experiencing this for over a year.

Door lock actuators began to fail in our 2005 Nissan Murano. They stopped responding suddenly and when we thought the car was locked, it was in fact opened, which is a safety issue. It is a very common issue and usually all actuator go out at the same time. We have replaced driver's door actuator (that cost us $400) and now have to deal with other 3. hopefully Nissan will recognize this as a serious problem and will issue a recall.

The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Murano. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled without warning. The failure recurred numerous times while the contact was in traffic. The vehicle was taken to the mechanic where a diagnostic was performed, which located the failure at the alternator. The failure alternator was replaced three times but the failure was not corrected. The manufacturer was contacted and advised that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign id number: 05V319000 (electrical system). The failure mileage was 101,239 and the current mileage was 120,151.

All passenger doors do not lock/unlock either using the fob or the driver power lock controller, the hatch is now locking intermittently. This is a huge safety/security issue especially now that the hatch is having problems. This issue started in 2011, which I had the drivers door fixed, then starting in 2012 the passenger doors started having issues, now in 2013 the remaining passenger door and hatchback!! there is obviously a problem which must be addressed!

The front passenger lock would not open using the key fob or the interior lock buttons. The rear hatch will not open unless the front passenger door is unlock. Recently ( spring of 2013, 129K miles), the driver and rear passenger side locks would not operate unless manually unlocked, at first intermittently and ultimately stopped working completely.

My vehicle caught fire as I proceeded to pull away from a curbside parking space. I turned my wheel to the far left as I proceeded away from the curb and that is when I heard a pop sound, saw white smoke spewing from the front right side of the vehicle, then I saw the flames. Five days prior to the incident, I had front brake pads and resurfaced rotors placed on the vehicle. Within the past 30 days the only other maintenance performed on the vehicle was a standard oil change.

My Nissan Murano 2005 SUV has been stopping in motion while driving again, and this has happened more then 7 times in the past 2 months. But this time it happened on the 405 fwy with my children. The vehicle slowed down on the freeway and I had to find the right shoulder lane in call aaa. I checked the recalls on the internet for this car and there was recalls back in 2005 when I bought the vehicle and I didn't receive a notices in the mail. I've called the Nissan hotline with no replies and emailed the company too; I was emailed back that there was a recall on the second row seat belts. This car is totally unsafe; plus vehicle has five recalls such as gas tank, set belt, engine and engine cooling, transmission, and alternator. I looked at the forum for the Nissan Murano in it seems like the same problem with the 2003-2005 models.

Original owner of Murano, purchased new in 2005. The door locks fail to lock and un-lock. This has occured at vairous times when using any means available to lock and un-lock the doors: The key fob, interior driver side and passenger side locks button on door, and manual manipilation of the interior door lock(s). The issue is experienced with all 4 door locks and occassionally the rear hatch (not opened as often, so it may occure more frequently, just not aware of it). The condition worsens in the warm weather (live in fl). Have at times been unable to get in or out of my vehicle until all of the above means tried repeatedly until one works. Have found that I can only get in my car during warm weather if I use the fob to roll the front windows down and then reach in the vehicle and manually unlock the car door.

The front drivers door failed.. more specifically, when the lock system is activated electronically, the doors typically fail to completely lock or unlock completely. Visually, the inside lock 'button' only moves partway. There is reason to believe this affects many owners of Nissan and infinity vehicles. Some suspect actuator problems and others suspect relay problems. There is an investigation into a class action law suit and there's petitions. The manufacturer doesn't want to claim responsibility and this problem is affecting thousands of owners. This problem has safety implication and can create potentially life threatening situations. I advice that this problem be taken seriously and make the manufacturers accountable for these defects. Thank you

In mid Jan, 2013 I noticed that after locking with the key fob, the front door remained unlocked, and would not lock from inside the car with either the individual lock control or the whole car lock control. The only way to lock the door is with your key, from the outside. In the event of an accident you do not have the added safety of a locked drivers door. All other doors are operating correctly at this time. The web seems to be filled with other problems like this and I wonder if they realize the danger they face when all doors are not locked in the event of an accident.

All of my locks no longer work. I have seen countless complaints about this very issue and nothing is getting done about it. I thought Nissan was suppose to be one of the best out there. I'll never buy another Nissan again if they continue not to assist their customers. I also have the air intake issue, thankfully that was recalled and will be fixed. I had to replace the front struts, oil cooler gasket, front sway bar links and the battery has been changed 3 times now. Very disappointed with Nissan and so embarrassed to even talk about the issues with this car. :(

Passenger door does not lock or unlock from the outside. Rear hatch door does not unlock and will not open. I checked online and there are hundreds of complaints about Nissan Murano lock actuators posing problems and not working. Nissan dealerships charge approximately $500 to fix each actuator, which seems extremely unfair considering it appears to be such a common defect. This is not only an unnecessary and preventable problem, but can be an extremely safety hazard.

2005 Nissan Murano sl with only 58,000 miles on it has the seat defect where it is stuck and won't move forward and back. It appears that the bracket system attachment to the floor has become broken. This is a dangerous manufacture defect that can cause accidents and the car to be unable to drive. The repair for this is quoted at $1,500. Nissan should recall these and fix them on their own cost, not the consumer.

Nissan knowing there is a security problem with their locking mechanism and not recalling them for safety concern is negligent. It's an open door to a lawsuit if someone were to be murdered due to a door that didn't lock, although the driver pushed the lock button and heard the locking noise. Remember, in this case there's no obvious indication the door isn't locked unless someone walks up and opens it from the outside. The drive "thinks" the door is locked, when in reality it's an "open door" for carjacking or robbery. This failure is an intermittent of operation. Sometimes the doors lock ok, other times they don't. in addition, sometimes the doors unlock ok, other times they don't. 3. in emergencies it's important to be able to unlock doors quickly. Since 99% of the time we all use the button to lock and unlock doors, using the manual locking lever is unfamiliar. And the Murano's design is such that it's not easy to comprehend if it's not your car, for instance a rental car. I can easily understand how some people would be confused how unlock a door using the manual level in an emergency when they virtually have no experience with it. In emergencies every second counts. The locking/unlocking solenoid malfunctioning is clearly a high risk in emergency scenarios. Some people who cannot afford the $1600 to have all the solenoids replaced (as quoted by dealers) will forgo getting them fixed, putting their family members at risk with the above mishap examples. This shouldn't be, Nissan should recall them. It's only a matter of time till someone gets robbed, hurt or killed from a malfunctioning door lock, disabling the security which the driver "thinks" he has when he locks the car. It's a lawsuit waiting to happen.
