Premature Subframe Corrosion: first noticed a knocking noise coming from under rear driver side area when going over bumps with our 2011 Murano. Then the knocking noise (metal on metal sound) got worse and then the back of our vehicle would sway uncontrollably side to side when pressing a little hard on the brakes. Brought the vehicle to the Nissan dealer and was told that the subframe had excessive corrosion and the vehicle is dangerous to drive. Our vehicle has only 106,800 miles and has been garage kept and serviced every year by the Nissan dealership. Discovered online that 100-??s, probably 1000-??s including unreported incidents of other Nissan owners having the same excessive subframe rusting problem. People have reported their wheels falling off and losing control of vehicle...easily can cause major accident with deaths. There was a recall in 2006 for the same subframe issue but for unknown reasons doesn-??t include my vehicle. Nissan has not corrected the cause of the subframe defect and has allowed this dangerous situation to continue with their vehicles even after the recall ended. The parts & labor cost to replace the subframe is between $3,000-$4,000+ and Nissan Consumer Affairs says since there are no current recalls and the vehicle is out of warranty that they will do nothing for me. This subframe rusting started day 1 when we purchased the vehicle and prematurely got worse each year through the warranty period until it becomes a dangerous situation after the warranty period ends. The prior recall should be extended to cover more vehicles and Nissan should take responsibility for not correcting the premature subframe rusting issues. Nissan should cover the costs to repair the faulty subframe or at the least, Nissan should supply the parts to correct the issue and the owner be responsible for the labor.

Rear sub frame rusted through on passenger side. Allows irregular motion of wheel and bumping of detached parts. Causes vehicle float when brake is applied. Unsafe to drive confirmed by independent and dealership technicians. Braking at medium or high speed could cause severe float, loss of control, accident, further damage. I am not driving the vehicle. Ii is a low-miles, well-maintained vehicle. No accident occurred. I noticed it early and got the diagnosis.

I was backing out of my drive when we heard a loud sound from the rear of the car. We though I had ran over something. As I drove we could hear a thumping sound from the rear of the car when we drove over a bump in the road.. It became louder the more I drove sounding like a hammering sound. I crawled under the car and discovered the frame had rusted allowing a bolt and bracket to move. This is causing the metal thumping sound we heard. I have parked the car and stopped driving it due to the possibility of the frame and suspension separating while moving. This is my wife's car and she loves it but we can't operate it due to the safety hazard. I searched this issue and have found many other Nissan Murano owners that have experienced the same issue. This is a serious safety issue Nissan should have addressed with their vehicles and with ours. My wife could have been placed in a dangerous position if I had not discovered this in time. Nissan should repair and or recall the affected vehicles to avoid possible serious bodily injury due to a loss of control created by this issue.

1-the dashboard is cracking all over. Many cracks and also cracking by the rightt side dash airbag. My car is in the garage 98% of the time. We only drive this car once or twice a month. We are not the original owners we have this car for about 2 1/2 years and only put 1000 miles on it. The car has 109631 miles on it. The car is in mint condition inside and out. 2- the airbag light comes on and was diagnosed as the passenger front seat occupant sensor. On this model the sensor is built into the seat bottom. This means that you need to replace the whole seat bottom which the part alone runs about $2500.

My vehicle's door lock will not unlock manually. If the auto locks stop working this shouldn't stop me from unlocking my vehicle manually. My original incident with this issue was with me in the vehicle. I was stuck in my truck. I had to climb over to the passenger side and get out that way. My second incident with this was all of my locks didn't work with the fob or with my key (mannually). Thankfully, I was not inside this time. I had to call roadside assistance. This is a real safety issue. During all of these incidents, my vehicle was stationary.

The convertible top malfunctioned and was unable to completely close, so it would lift and fly off when my car was in motion. Had to manually lock back in place however the roof error signal kept consistently beeping since it thought the roof was still down. Had to disconnect wiring to be able to use car. Now a few other things don't work properly because of the wiring that has been disconnected as a quick fix to the problem.

Rear driver side door does not open or actuate consistently when automatic door lock unit is engaged. Concerns are getting access to or out of vehicle in case of accident or a safety related issue should we need to enter the car in an emergency.

I was driving up rt 33 going North toward ridgefield and there were fallen/cut branches on the side of the road (across the street from linden tree) that were sticking out, and scratched the full length of the right side of my car. They appeared to have been pushed to the side, but not enough to avoid brushing a car. I have a black car and one mark in particular runs the full length of the car. I took it to a car wash this morning hoping it would wash off, but it is a scratch. I spoke to gaylan in new canaan who suggested I file the claim here. I am not sure if this is the right section. I tried to take photos but due to glare and the thin line against a big black space, you cannot tell from a photo. I am happy to bring the car for firsthand inspection. I am very upset as I went to the area today and there is an orange cone next to the brush to alert people, but I did not see the cone as it was tucked behind some of the leaves. Please advise as this car is still pretty new and these scratches are impossible to get out and have damaged the paint surface on the right side of my car.

Sunroof of my 2011 Nissan Murano exploded suddenly while driving down the highway on a clear day and no other cars in the area. The malfunction of the sunroof exploding caused the center of the sunroof glass to protrude outward into a dome shape while glass pieces shattered into the cabin of the Murano. Upon contacting the Nissan dealer, they referred me to the national Nissan customer service number, but after 4 days I am still waiting on a call back from the regional Nissan office. This is a major safety issue that Nissan must take responsibility for correcting as soon as possible.

We were driving at 35 miles/hr with 3 years old daughter in the car seat in the back. Suddenly the roof just exploded. We had the inside cover of the sunroof open and the debris from the roof explosion flew in our daughter face. Fortunately, beside minor scratches on her face and crying when we put her back to the car, she is ok. She now resist us when we try to put her in this car. This is absolutely a quality issue from Nissan. We agree with Nissan that we never heard about roof exploding before, but we as many other have witnessed one from car made by Nissan.
