Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

2009 Nissan Quest Owner Comments

problem #2

  • 50,000 miles

Sliding door(s). While reviewing others complaints of the Nissan Quest, I found I was not alone with the manual sliding doors. The driver side manual sliding door gets stuck randomly, and one must pull on it so hard (to get it open), that one is fearful of the handle breaking off. This issue is not as bad on the passenger side as it is the driver's side.

The contact owns a Honda 2009 Nissan Quest S/SE/sl. The left and right sliding doors failed. The doors do not close automatically. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times; however, the failure couldn't be recreated; therefore, the dealer stated that nothing was wrong with the vehicle. The contact stated that on August 9, 2010 she was not able to get the vehicle started. The vehicle was towed to the dealer who replaced the battery. The manufacturer filed report 6899768, but didn't offer any additional assistance. The failure mileage was 300. The current mileage was 3,100.
