Shortly after I took this off a lot in 2012, I experienced a deceleration on the highway. I live in Arizona, so traveling from phoenix to flagstaff is at an incline at phoenix is roughly 3000 feet above sea level and flagstaff is 7000. The incline happens just over 140 miles, so it's quite a climb. The car losses all acceleration ability on each and every incline, forcing me to find a shoulder (if I can), where I have to shut the car off for about five minutes before trying again. Magically, the car regains some acceleration, but it quickly happens again. This is especially dangerous due the the cliff edges or rock walls that line this road. When I come to a almost sudden stop on this two lane highway when I just went around a blind corner, that means that I don't have time to alert the cars behind me that I am at a complete stop. I have had many close encounters like this. I have tried to ask the dealers, mechanics and talk forums on the situation. Though many people have experienced this very problem, nobody seems to know what's going on. I have resorted to drive it in the city and take an old, but much more reliable Subaru forester on these trips instead. This Nissan has been a thorn in my side since I purchased it, but I seem to be stuck with it. I have tried to clean the mass air flow sensor, but it didn't help at all. The all wheel drive can't even make it up an icy incline. I hate this car.

Straight out the lot 13 miles on it when I purchased it. About 6 months after I purchased my 2010 rouge, it started to make noises when I would go over a dip or a small bump on the road (30,000 miles or so). The noise sounds like something is loose. I took it in 2-3 times to Nissan they said they couldn't replicate the problem. It also started making a vibrating noise when I would be idling at a stop sign or traffic light. The vibrating sound I was told was due to the throttle being dirty. I had that cleaned and a few months later it stated doing again. My rouge now has over 100,000 miles on it and it it started loosing power and it is not accelerating on the highway. I was on my way to dallas and my rouge wouldn't speed up, I was driving like 78 mph and then decelerates to 55 mph, this is very dangerous. This is the third time that it has happened, pretty scary stuff. I had to pull over on the next exit and check out my car. Once I tried to get on the road again my car refused to move it was acting like it was going to turn off, sort off like when you make an abrupt stop and it jerks. It took of very slowly and then after a few minutes it was back to normal.

2nd complaint of repeated issue, subsequent occurrence. 2010 Nissan Rogue lost power and decelerated from 70 mph to approximately 40 mph while traveling on highway, hazards applied however vehicles approaching had to change lanes. On this occurrence a vehicle check engine light appeared. Pulled off road and when accelerator was depressed engine revved to approximately 2500 RPM with no forward motion then lurched forward rapidly accelerating then lost power again before returning to normal operation. Note that Nissan dealership acknowledges that this is a known issue, instructed that the cvt transmission warranty has been extended to 120K miles and to bring to dealership. Nissan states this is the result of transmission overheating and causing the vehicle to enter safety (also known as limp) mode.

While driving on the highway, up bridges and hills. The car does not accelerate. Stays at 2rpm even while pedal is pressed all the way. Vehicle cant pass 70 mph on long drives and RPM stays at 2rpm. The car starts slowing down to almost 50 mph for longer periods of time. Then when off the highway to see the issue the car does not accelerate properly. Turning off the car and let it rest for 10 min is the only solution. But 30 min back in the road same problem occurs. This is dangerous and not safe. I read many forums and also the Nissan titans are having this problem. I need serious help. Stopped at auto zone to read the check engine and the transmission and speed control codes came up. The 1st time in 4 years the check engine light comes on. So obviously it's getting worse.

I have a Nissan Rogue. My Rogue has been losing power and having issues accelerating at times. I am not sure why it is mainly when I have been driving for a long time. I have not been able to get the issue diagnosed because it doesn't do it when I take it to the mechanic. I am not sure how to go about this issue. I do feel that this should be a recall since several Rogue owners have the same problem.

Pulling away from multiple stop signs, the Rogue would not accelerate even with pedal pressed to floor. People were honking behind me and passing. Had this same issue with going through traffic circles to slow down and yield and then try to accelerate again. Rogue took several minutes to go up to 40mph. I finally had to pull over into parking lot. I turned car off and waited about 5 minutes to then try again. When I turned the Rogue on this time, it seemed to function normal. I was able to continue at normal speeds and acceleration the remainder of my trip. My husband and our mechanic were not able to replicate the problem. I have read that many people seem to have this same issue. Very dangerous since you expect car to move as you pull into traffic and it does not. There were no lights on dash at time of incident. I have noticed the vdc & slip light has come on several times over the past 2 weeks for no apparent reason. Including today about 3 hours before this acceleration problem. I had been driving to several places throughout afternoon with car shut off between. I would estimate I drove a total of 60 miles over a 5 hour period. Car started acting up during the last 30 minutes before my final destination. When this took place, it took me about 1 hour to go 17 miles. Normally it takes me just under 30 minutes.

While the vehicle is setrup on cruise for 70 miles, suddenly the cruise coast was shoiu off and vehicle start going down, even while we press accelarator, no response. The accelerator was completly floored, but the vehicle slowed down till it reaches 35 mph. I stopped the vehicle on the side of highway and shutoff the vehicle for 15 mts and re started. It performed normally till high elevation came and then started the same issue, this time with out cruise control on. Like this it went on till I reach Pennsylvania state. This hsppend while I am traveling from lexington, ky to New York NY. It happened again while coming back, once I crossed Pennsylvania and reached us 68 Maryland and continued till I reach us 64 till weschester. This time me, my wife and my daughter are pannicked for every two or three hours and took break for 20 mts for every three hours. The total 12 hrs travell took 20 hrs for us to reach lexington, ky. 2010 Nissan rougue is only 5 months old, I bought it from carmax, lexington, ky. This I observed on highways and while going in elevations, if that is the case from lexington where ever I travel is always high elevations. Please give justice to us.

When slowing down to come to a stop or just slowing down period the engine sounds like it wants to turn off and it putters like it's going to turn off. I have to push the gas pedal to keep it from turning off. Nissan dealer says the entire air conditioner compressor need to be replaced. I purchased this car in Oct/2013 and shouldn't have to absorb the huge cost for this.

As my son and I went on a day trip with my sister and nieces to the ocean my car decreased speed from 75 mph to 30 real quick people behind us swerved off of the road avoiding hitting us. I pushed the gas pedal all the way down and the car would not even accelerate. I had to stop at a gas station so I could call someone to let them know of the car problems I was having. I took back roads home because I did not feel the car is safe for us. I am disappointed that it is doing this as I have only had it since 2010.

I stopped the vehicle with the shift lever in drive. When I tried to shift into reverse to back up I could get no farther than neutral. The release button on the shift lever would not move. I could not get into reverse or park. I managed to get the cover on the right side of the shift lever off and a broken piece of gray plastic fell out. The shift lever release button then worked and I was able to shift into reverse and into park. I have driven the vehicle several times with no more problems. Not being able to get into reverse in a timely manner could cause a serious situation to develop. I saved the broken piece of plastic that jammed the release lever.

I was driving when I suddenly noticed that the air conditioning was not working properly then the engine spluttered and the vehicle slowed and I had to turn on the hazard lights to prevent an accident. I parked on the roadside when able to and shut off the engine. After a couple of minutes, I restarted the engine and regained speed but the air conditioning was not responsive however within a few minutes the engine spluttered again and had to park and called for roadside assistance. The diagnosis from Nissan was that the radiator had a "hole" in it and warranty did not cover as the mileage had exceeded 36,000. I was puzzled why the radiator of a relatively new car without any forewarning would develop this kind of problem and I was not prepared to pay the high repair cost, which convinced there may be something wrong with the radiator from the manufacturer.

Over the weekend of October 16th, I drove my 2010 Nissan Rogue from md to williamsburg, va and back. My family was almost killed in a car crash because the Nissan Rogue failed to properly accelerate on a busy intersection. For the rest of the weekend it failed to accelerate a total of 4 more times coming from a complete stop. If I drive the car for more than 2 hours on highway and come to a complete stop, the car will not accelerate properly, it takes about 5-6 seconds to reach a speed of about 10mph. The next day, the vehicle was working fine. I took the vehicle to the Nissan dealer and they could not duplicate the problem. They were not getting any codes from the computer. They kept the vehicle overnight and had a technician drive it back and forth from work to home and back to work but they could not duplicate the problem. After checking the odometer, the computers mph average speed and the area where the car was driven, turns out that the vehicle was not driven on highway for more than 2 hours, it was stop and go driving. The vehicle has to be driven on highway continuously for more than 2 hours for this problem to occur. This is a serious safety hazard. I never know if my family will loose their lives on the next busy intersection. There are many reports on the internet about this problem taking place al over the nation. Nissan has not posted any bulletins or recalls in this matter but something has to be done now before there is a casualty on the road. Do we have to wait for someone to die before Nissan acknowledges that there is a serious problem?
