New car. Great reviews. Winter hit and I would have to start the car about 20 minutes ahead of time for it to even START defrosting the windshield, and this was only because the air finally was warmer than the outside air. I still had to scrape the entire windshield at this point. The heater would then FINALLY be marginally warm about 30 minutes into my 40 minute drive to work. I was told that this was "normal", as all cars had to have time to warm up in our winters. Funny, my previous car only needed about 10 minutes on a below zero day. The only time this heater is warm is when the outside temp is about 32 degrees or warmer ... anything colder you can forget being comfortable. I bundle up and know that I will not be warm until I drive into my work parking lot 25 minutes after leaving home. I don't bother starting it more than a few minutes ahead anymore; it just doesn't help. Nothing does. At least the summers aren't overly hot, so I haven't had to test the A/C in severe heat!!!
