CarComplaints.com Notes: Be aware the 2007-2011 Nissan Versa was recalled in the US in May 2016 & July 2017 for defective Takata airbags that are potentially deadly. Many Versa owners have reported problems getting Nissan dealers to complete the recall repair, due to scheduling problems & parts shortages.

If you are considering purchasing a 2007-2011 Nissan Versa, call your local Nissan dealer with the VIN# & ask if the airbag recall has been done.

Parked 2008 Nissan Versa hatchback in front of my condo at night. My 2008 Nissan Versa hatchback windshield on the passenger side of the vehicle cracked while sitting overnight in the driveway. The crack originates from the bottom of the windshield on the passenger side, travels upwards about 3 inches and then travels across the windshield towards the driver for 10 inches and then back down to the bottom of the windshield. There are no stone chips or visible defect at the crack initiation sites. Needless to say the dealer informed me it is not covered under warranty.

My 2008 Versa hatchback has two very long cracks in the original factory windshield. Both cracks originate at the edge of the windshield, with no rock scar or damage of any sort. Appears to be stress crack or massive defect in glass workmanship. Both cracks appeared while the vehicle was parked for hours. According to dealer, this is not covered by warranty. Big shock there.
