Tire pressure sensors flash and then stay on. Tires have pressure. Not related to changing tires.

Tire Pressure Monitoring Sensor did what it was supposed to do until I had a flat tire. I got a nail in my tire and had it fixed. The TPMS light was reset by service station and was good for a couple of hours. The light came on and was again reset but came back on within a few minutes. I returned to the dealership and was told that since I had a service station repair the tire and reset the sensor that they would have to fix the sensor.

It ended up that I had to BUY a sensor from the dealership and have the service station install it. The service station then did so and reset the Sensor which again came back on. I returned to the dealership who then charged me $75.00 to reset the TPMS sequence in the computer. This should have all been done under warranty.

As the car has aged, I have replaced all four tires and had a similar experience with the TPMS. At a cost of $125.00 for each sensor and having to have the sensors replaced each time a tire is replaced I am looking at a minimum of $1000.00 for tire replacement on an ECONOMY car. I have learned to ignore the tire pressure light and visually inspect my tires on a regular basis which is far more reliable than the TPMS system.

I had the sensors fixed and paid a $50 deductible for each so it cost just for the Parts $200 but labor was free due to the warranty. Since then Every Three months, the sensors misfire and I have to have them "reset". My warranty has run out and now its $120 per sensor to fix even though I had them fixed with the recall. It's still a Problem that Nissan should fix.

prior to the tire losing air pressure every 2 weeks.....I had to check the tires and inflate every month, this was when the car was brand new! never had that problem with any other car. I will post separately, but I have had to replace 2 more sensors!
