From the first day of taking ownership of a used (57,000 miles upon purchase) 2001 Boneville SSEI it has been a "problem car." From the rear window falling down, the starter not working, the oil pressure sending unit going out, steering issues, and worse... While exiting the Interstate yesterday evening, the car made a pop sound, then flames started coming from under the hood, and around the driver's side fender.
It was so quick that I barely had time to pull over and call the fire department. However, while trying to pull over, I lost ALL braking power (pedal went to the floor). Thank God no one was in front of me!
A truck driver gave me an extinguisher, and it failed to put out the fire. The fire department was successful. However, the car is a total loss. This car is the definition of LEMON. Unsafe at any speed.
